Manufacturers of made-to-order contact lenses and Intra-Ocular Lenses (IOLs) are a driving force within EUROMCONTACT and should continue to engage at EU level

EUROMCONTACT President Nicoletta Losi and EUROMCONTACT chair of the Regulatory Affairs Focus Group, Antonieta Lucas, spoke at the 45th EFCLIN conference held on 26-28 April 2018 in Dubrovnik.  On 27th April, Nicoletta Losi highlighted the role of EFCLIN within EUROMCONTACT “as the representation of the manufacturers of made-to-order lenses and IOLs, EFCLIN plays a major role in EUROMCONTACT. Membership of EFCLIN, many of which are SMEs, contribute to the innovation and economic growth in our sector and should be recognised. It is important that their voice and concerns be echoed at EU level”, she added. The following day, Antonieta Lucas, chair of the Regulatory Affairs Group presented the impact of the Medical Devices Regulation on the contact lens sector and the work of EUROMCONTACT to help shape the regulatory framework according to the needs of manufacturers.
