Workshop on Unique Device Identification (UDI) for contact lenses
MDCG Guidance 2024-14 on the implementation of the Master UDI-DI solution for contact lenses has been published this week. By November 2025, manufacturers of standard and made to order contact lenses will have to assign a Unique Device Identifier (UDI) in accordance with Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2197 and this guidance.
To support manufacturers in this regulatory change, EuromContact organizes a workshop on Thursday 28 November 2024, bringing together experts, industry, European Commission and issuing entities. The aim of this workshop is to provide contact lens manufacturers with a comprehensive understanding of the UDI requirements under the EU MDR for their devices, from UDI assignment to labeling, registration in Eudamed and vigilance reporting.
